On a jutting of rock on the side of somewhere, seemingly impossible to get to, here sits Buddha. Serene. Balanced. Emanating peace. Inviting the on-looker to feel the same.
The statue juxtapositioned with the rocky environment creates curiosity and questions for me. As well, the serenity and balance soften the rock edges. You can’t tell whether this is a massive statue and boulder, or a thumb-size one with tiny rocks. This is one of the reasons I take photographs – so I can alter reality to match my whims.
