When Burning Man was about 4K Folks

,

$200.00

Back in the 90s, I founded an interactive company in the San Francisco Bay area.  We were one of the first startup companies to buy an external ONE-gigabyte hard drive. It cost $1800. The housing of the one gig hard drive was about 4-in x 4-in x 8-in. One Gig. Okay.

This was the beginning of what is now the online culture moving, as I write, into artificial intelligence (AI) one.

As well, the now famous 100,000 person Burning Man held in Black Rock Desert in Nevada every Labor Day was in its nascent stages. A bunch of us went and were part of the 4000 folks who attended that year. This picture of The Man takes me back to that experience, which was wild, free, and quite liberating in many ways.

This Burning Man was the only one I attended. I’m not much for large crowds, and 4000 people was way big enough for me.

This image is offered in the large 24-in x 36-in Canvas media.
