According to legend, Guan Yin, a student in Buddha’s first class, reached Nirvana – white light – and decided to stay in human form to help spread compassion, mercy, kindness and love – the foundational attributes of Buddhism. Guan Yin became an idol of mine when I read about her some 4 decades ago, as I aspire to live my life as she did hers.
What does this have to do with this picture? I think Guan Yin would have found humor and poignancy in this image.
