Wat Arun Temple

I’m not drawn to man-made stuff all that often. I was in Bangkok for the first, and so far, only time, back in 2019. January. I spent 5-days there before going on to Chang Mai, where I spent about 2 months.

While in Bangkok, I took a cruise on the Chao Phraya river, and we came upon this Temple – the Wat Arun Temple. Later I learned that most of the famous temples are located on the east bank. The Wat Arun sits on the west bank. It was built in 1809, soaring to 79 meters. The base and the tower body are square.

There is much more to know about this temple, indeed, about this country and its people. Its Buddhist culture fed my soul, so I was drawn to everything here, including the man-made stuff.
